COLLEAGUES at Greggs in Torquay have completed a fundraising drive to raise money for local charities.
Organised by the Greggs Foundation, the charity established in 1987 by Ian Gregg to put something back into local communities, a month of fundraising activities was held in July. It included staff dressing up in onesies, super round-up days where customers were encouraged to round-up their loose change to the nearest 10p and selling bespoke foundation products.
The Greggs Foundation is a grant making trust which provides financial support to organisations that make a difference in the heart of local communities donating around £1.3m each year through four different grant programmes.
This includes the support of more than 230 primary school Breakfast Clubs nationwide –– donating £250,000 each year to provide a free, nutritious breakfast every day to more than 11,000 primary school children in areas of social deprivation.
Jackie Crombie, Greggs foundation manager, said: "Our annual fundraising appeal has become a permanent fixture in the calendar."
