THE Berry Head National Nature Reserve has been awarded a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor.
This places Berry Head in the top 10 per cent of global attractions reviewed by visitors on travel website TripAdvisor.
The natural beauty of the area is recognised as the main allure for visiting the attraction, with reviewers frequently describing the 'stunning views' and recommending Berry Head for its beautiful scenery.
Noel Hughes, countryside officer at Berry Head, said: "This award is fantastic and is testament to the hard work the trust team and Friends of Berry Head volunteers put in every day. We are so proud of the area and we are so pleased for Berry Head to be recognised as one of the top attractions in the world."
The recent heatwave also boosted visitor numbers this year.
Lucy Clarke, spokesman for Berry Head National Nature Reserve, said: "The spell of hot weather encouraged lots of visitors to the trust's sites seeking relief from the soaring temperatures.
"Many have visited Berry Head to take advantage of the coastal breezes.
"There has been a large influx of visitors from Goodrington beaches in Paignton who want to find out about coastal wildlife while taking a little break from the sun and sand."
