TORQUAY-based fibre optics manufacturer Gooch & Housego put their best foot forward for Rowcroft Hospice. The staff took part in a sponsored walk for Rowcroft Hopsice which went from Brixham to their office in Torquay, a distance of 10 miles, and raised £2,000.
The firm, based in Broomhill Way, has supported Rowcroft for a number of years through various events including cycle rides as well as walks. Their efforts have meant since 2010, they have raised nearly £4,500 for the local hospice.
Laura Cameron, community fundraising manager at the hospice, said: "The on-going support of Gooch & Housego is really wonderful. It seems the staff really enjoy taking on a challenge for us each year.
"We're very grateful to them as every penny they raise helps us to take care further and support those living with life-limiting illness and their families across South Devon."
Graham Catley, general manager at Gooch & Housego, said: "Our Rowcroft fundraising walk has become an annual event enjoyed by a large number of our staff. It is one of a number of ideas through the year including a 'non-uniform' week in the summer. Raising money for Rowcroft is always a pleasure considering all the exceptional work the staff do there and its place in the local community."
