DVD rental firm Blockbuster has gone into administration.

The chain has 528 stores employing 4,190 staff.

South Devon branches are at Market Street in Torquay, Torquay Road in Preston and Queen Street, Newton Abbot.

Deloitte, the accountancy firm that will now take over the day-to-day running of the firm, said Blockbuster had been affected by competition from internet-based film services.

Who cares, jennyhomes? Who cares??? Really? Well, every one of the reported 4190 staff who will fear for their jobs. Probably their families, too. Who should care? Everyone! I'd offer a few good reasons why, but I doubt it will make any difference to you. Apparently, if it doesn't directly affect you, it doesn't matter.
