A CAR has been damaged by a falling tree branch in Paignton as high winds are expected to affect the South West this evening.
Paignton fire fighters were called to Colley End Road to reports that a small conifer had fallen on a parked car at 2.08pm.
No-one was inside the vehicle at the time and no-one injured.
Crews used a saw to cut the branch into smaller parts to clear the area.
The car was damaged by the impact.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for winds which is in force until 9pm tonight.
It said that westerly winds will strengthen through Saturday afternoon and into the evening, bringing gusts of 50-60 mph to many parts of the southwest of England and southwest Wales.
Winds may reach 70 mph along exposed west facing coasts.
There is a risk of localised disruption, particularly to travel.
