THE trust which runs Shoalstone Pool in Brixham has vowed to clear up 'confusion' about its money-making role and plans for a successful 2014 season.
Brixham Community Trust Ltd has considered the possibility of dissolving itself and reforming as a community interest company.
But it is understood those considerations have been put to one side with trustees 'pulling together' to ensure the pool will build on this year's successful summer season.
It follows a meeting on Tuesday evening at which the trust discussed its future.
Trust vice-chairman David Giles said 'positive progress' was made and confirmation that the trust would continue was due to be confirmed at a meeting yesterday.
Mr Giles added: "We are optimistic of sorting things out ready for 2014.
"When we first got involved earlier this year we had just a few months before the council was about to close the pool.
"This time we've got the better part of eight months. We've got plenty of time and we're planning to move ahead in the same shape for 2014 and the idea is it will be as a trust."
Brixham councillor Mike Morey (pictured) said it was up to everybody involved to work together to reach the best solution for the pool and the people of Brixham.
He added: "Our job is to make sure that the pool is open next summer. That's a priority. I am more confident than I was last week that will happen. The priority is to keep it open for next year and make sure everybody is pulling in the right direction."
