ENGLAND cricketer Caroline Atkins visited Newton Abbot College last week for an inspirational day of top-level cricket coaching.

In the morning, she worked with the girls' and boys' cricket squads to help develop their skills and teamwork.

In the afternoon she worked alongside the PE staff while they taught their curriculum PE lesson.

As well as playing for England Ladies, Caroline is a level two cricket coach, an ECB tutor and a Chance to Shine coaching ambassador.

Ian Patchett, PE group leader at the college, said: "The students really enjoyed the opportunity to receive expert advice and coaching tips from someone who has played the sport at the highest level. Caroline planned a range of challenging and fun activities which really tested the students within a competitive environment. I think they have all gained something from the day."
