A ONE-OFF award celebrating this year's London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, there have been many notable ways in which individuals in South Devon have contributed.

First among the shortlisted nominations us Jack Hazlewood, who fulfilled a role as Youth Sports Trust Gold Ambassador.

Jack organised Olympic-themed assemblies at Torquay Community College, while also running events to raise awareness of this summer's games.

Jack also helped to organise and run the Torbay Schools Olympic Awareness Games, providing ideas and insight at meetings. His role also saw him chosen as a torchbearer in the Olympic Torch Relay, picking up the flame during the Plymouth leg.

Also shortlisted is Jason Murphy, an FA-qualified referee who was also chosen to be a torchbearer in the Olympic Torch Relay.

Jason was picked to carry the flame because of his work with disabled sportsmen and women, particular within football.

Jason has raised money for charity through events such as the Chara Challenge, while he also gave up his time to visit schools and colleges with his replica of the Olympic torch to show it off and talk about his experience.
