A HISTORIC youth hostel and warden's cottage at Lownard, near Dartington, are going under the hammer.
The Dartington Hall Trust is putting the properties up for sale by auction together with a parcel of land forming an overall plot of 0.72 acres or 0.29 hectares.
The youth hostel was opened in 1932 and was part of the Youth Hostel Association until it was closed in 2006.
It is a detached, single storey building with five rooms and two sets of bathrooms, and is capable of providing sleeping accommodation for around 20 people.
The warden's cottage has planning permission for residential use or live/work use.
The lot has a guide price of £195,000.
In addition, Dartington is offering two separate paddocks of 0.45 acres and 1.08 acres respectively.
The property is being offered for sale by auction through Westcountry Property Auctions.
Auctioneer Andrew Jarrold said that the property would "no doubt raise enormous local and wider national interest due to its situation and the variety of potential opportunities which it provides".
The auction will take place from 1pm on Thursday, October 31, at Sandy Park Conference Centre, Exeter.
