The Dartington Hall Estate is always a magical place to visit but at Christmas time there's an extra little bit of sparkle. This Christmas, Dartington has arranged a whole host of activities and events to please every family member.

The musical festivities begin on December 10, where you can join Dartington Hall for some merrymaking with the Children's Christmas Carols Concert. Over 180 children from local Primary Schools will fill the Great Hall with Christmas songs and carols. Jonathan Watts will be on piano and Dartington's very own David Francis, director of arts) will once again take the role of Master of Ceremonies.

The choral delights continue on December 11 when Dartington welcomes the Exeter University Singers to serenade those who delight in a traditional Christmas. The Singers will be treating audiences to a beautiful melange of soaring choral music and traditional carols.

For those who enjoy rocking around the Christmas tree, there's something for you too! Dartington will be welcoming local favourites Matthew & Me to play a very special Christmas gig on December 19.

The festive mood continues throughout December with the Barn Cinema showing a selection of much loved Christmas films as well as streaming live shows from The Royal Opera House. Some viewings have already sold out so make sure you book your seat as soon as possible.

The Shops will also be getting into the festive season with a traditional Christmas Fair on December 8 and 9. There will be food and craft stalls, music, children's entertainment and a very special visit from Father Christmas!

Make sure you and the family don't miss out on a little extra Christmas sparkle with 'Bling', Dartington's first ever traditional community youth theatre family pantomime. Showing on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, Alan Ding takes a journey in 'Bling', complete with songs, dances, adventures and a Genie!

Vaughan Lindsay, chief executive of the Dartington Hall Trust, said: "There is so much going on at Dartington this Christmas, everyone here can't wait for the festivities to commence. The estate is the perfect setting for such a magical time of the year. We really hope you can join us in celebrating this year's festive season and I look forward to seeing you soon."

There are plenty more Christmas events taking place at Dartington throughout December, for full listings or to book tickets please visit www.dartington.org/whats-on or call 01803 847070.
