YOUNG boys and girls flocked to a Scout taster evening in Dartmouth.
They took part in a range of activities including juggling, toasting marshmallows and pioneering projects using spaghetti.
Seven-year-old Adam Debney said he was looking forward to joining. He said: “Beavers will help me make more friends outside of school.”
Ben Powlesland, regional development officer for the Scout Association, said: “We have more than enough youngsters to start a brand new Beaver Scout section for boys and girls aged five to eight and another 10 children wanting to join our Cub Scout section for eight to 10-year-olds.”
There will be a meeting for parents who want to support this venture at 8.15pm on Monday, October 14, at the Scout headquarters, Higher Broad Park, Dartmouth.
Mr Powlesland said: “We appreciate that people’s time is limited so our policy of flexible volunteering means that our helpers can give as much or little time as they can manage.”
