Take the DevonVegan Pledge 2013!
The Vegan Pledgeis back! After a successful launch last year, Exeter Friends For Animals isrunning its popular scheme again this spring. The aim is to provide free helpand guidance to anyone thinking of trying an animal-free diet, for whateverreason: whether to reduce animal suffering, improve their health or reducetheir carbon footprint - or indeed all three.
Pledgersundertake to follow a vegan diet for one month, and attend a workshop at thebeginning and end of the month consisting of cookery demonstrations, talks, discussions and nutritional advice from a registered dietician culminating in adelicious "I Can't Believe It's Vegan!" lunch. They are also assigneda vegan "buddy" who they can contact with any queries or problems, and a programme of social events during the month offers a chance to gettogether with fellow pledgers.
Over half oflast year's pledgers decided to remain vegan, and a large proportion said theywould eat more vegan food in future. Among the former was Honiton Green Partycouncillor Sharon Pavey, who praised the initiative:
"I'm so happy being vegan now, over 9months on. It was the right decision and I'm really pleased with it all andthank you to EFFA for organising the Go Vegan month".
The workshopstake place on Saturday 2 March and Saturday 13 April at the StSidwell's Centre, Sidwell Street, Exeter. To take part, contact Kim on 07810898440 or see our website www.effa-uk.org for more details. Now also onfacebook! https://www.facebook.com/DevonVeganPledge
