MARTIAL arts master Paul Drury has been promoted to eighth dan by two of the world's largest kick-boxing governing bodies.
The World Kickboxing Association and the World Kickboxing Council have promoted Drury, as he approaches his 42nd year in the Martial Arts and 35th year as a black belt and instructor.
Drury holds black belts in five different martial arts and has master grades in three of them.
He has had a cracking finish to 2012, having been inducted into the Martial Arts Illustrated hall of fame just two weeks ago.
Drury said of his promotion: "I remember getting my black belt almost 35 years ago and it seems like yesterday.
"This is a real honour and by two of the biggest associations in the world, makes it extra special."
