A DELIGHTED Paignton schoolboy took home his own Dr Who Dalek when he won a Torquay Museum competition.

Alfie Collings, a pupil at Whiterock Primary School, has been a fan of Dr Who for many years.

The nine-year-old took part in the competition run during Torquay Museum's Sci-Fi at the Movies summer exhibition and won the remote-controlled Dalek in the process.

His mother Laura said: "Alfie is a mad Dr Who fan who loved the museum's sci-fi exhibition.

"He was delighted when he heard he had won the Dalek.

"I'm sure he will spend many happy hours racing around the house."

Torquay Museum's Sci-Fi at the Movies exhibition showcased stunning costumes and props from some of the best science-fiction movies and TV series ever made, including Star Wars, Dr Who, Aliens and Star Trek. It was one of the museum's most popular exhibitions ever, attracting more than 16,000 visitors in the 10 weeks it was open.
