GALMPTON'S Barn Art Group will host an exhibition and sale of work next week.
They'll host the event at the Barn Hall, Galmpton, from August 17 to 26 and will include works in pastel, watercolour, acrylic and mixed media.
Subjects range from seascapes to landscapes, Devon views, colourful holiday scenes, gardens, flower studies and portraits – animal, bird and human.
Barn Art Group evolved from a group in an art class in Paignton, which missed meeting together when the tutor left.
Gillian Gadsby, one of the group, found a new venue and agreed to teach 12 years ago and Dianne Richards gave demonstrations.
Today there are 17 members, half of whom have been together since the start and they meet at the Barn Hall on Tuesdays three times a month to draw and paint with no tutor. Occasionally they hold workshops with visiting Lecturers and Demonstrating Artists. The members live in Galmpton, Brixham, Stoke Gabriel, and the surrounding areas.
The exhibition will be open from 10.30am to 5pm and admission is free.
