The photograph on the poster is actually a painting, taken from an artist's Flickr page.

Comments (0) A poster doing the rounds on social networks sites claiming six year old girl has been kidnapped by a gang is a fake.

The appeal, which has been circulated by thousands of people on sites such as Facebook claims a young girl called Amy has been kidnapped by an 'Asian Gang'.

The message continues: "She's 6 years old and was last seen in the Croydon area of London, wearing a pink top and blue jeans."

However, no child named Amy Hamilton is missing from the London region or anywhere else in the UK.

Herald Express sister title The Croydon Advertiser investigated the appeal and found the photograph on the poster is actually a painting taken from an artist's Flickr page.

They said: "The hoax is the work of "Britons against Left-wing Extremism", a far-right group which publishes material via a blog called the Daily Bale."You can find full details here http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/EXCLUSIVE-Race-hate-group-s-vile-Facebook-missing/story-19975261-detail/story.html
