A GARDEN designed specifically for dementia patients was opened at Choice Care Home in Babbacombe.

The garden is the culmination of an £80,000 investment at the home.

New facilities include a lift, two additional bedrooms, a wheelchair accessible toilet, fire safety improvements and floor levelling.

Goodrington with Roselands Cllr Jane Barnby, Torbay Council chairman, was present at the opening.

The Babbacombe residence is owned by local company Beechcroft Care Homes. Director, David Gow-Smith, said: "We are pleased to be able to make another positive investment in a vitally important care provision for the elderly."
