TWO hotels which belonged to The Hotel's Mark Jenkins have been sold prior to auction for an undisclosed sum.
The Kistor and Inglewood Hotels, both in Belgrave Road, Torquay, were due to be auctioned this week with guide prices of £600,000 and £450,000 respectively.
The auction was to be held by Savills on behalf of joint administrators after the collapse of the hotel group which included the Grosvenor, also in Belgrave Road and the star of Channel 4's popular The Hotel series.
A spokesman for Savills said they could only confirm that they had been sold prior to the auction.
Mr Jenkins, who has been asked to appear in a new TV series and is writing a book about his experiences, said the new owners had got 'a bargain'.
The detached 64 bedroom licensed Kistor features indoor leisure facilities and extensive public rooms, including a restaurant, function room and cocktail bar. It is just 100 yards from Torquay seafront.
The Inglewood Hotel has 54 bedrooms, an outdoor swimming pool and is close to the Rivera International Conference Centre.
Savills said they could not disclose details of the purchaser as the sale had not been completed.
