T HE Royal Seven Stars Hotel, is a historical coaching inn, built during the 1660s, at the heart of Totnes. Owners Nigel and Anne Way have striven to retain the historical features of this 16th century building, whilst modernising the hotel's facilities and despite a serious fire last year the business was soon up and running again and welcoming customers and back.
Margaret Stone, general manager of the Royal Seven Stars, said: "It's wonderful to win again for the second year. It is absolutely brilliant. Everyone has worked so hard. After the fire last year we have had so much support from our owners, the staff, who have worked tirelessly, and our customers who have been really loyal."
ILSINGTON Country House Hotel has been family run for more than 14 years after it was bought back in 1998 by the Hassell family.
They have continued to invest in the business most recently with a new sun terrace and onsite pub 'Blue Tiger Inn' giving guests the choice of fine dining or traditional, quality pub food. The 25 bedroom hotel has two restaurants, and conference and function facilities.
Richard Hassell owner of the Ilsington Country House said: "It is a great achievement. We are delighted especially for the whole team who have worked really hard to achieve this. We have had the hotel for 14 years and this is a culmination of a lot of hard work and investment."
