AN inquest is expected to open on Wednesday into the death of a much-loved Torquay man who died in the town centre last Friday.
The coroner has been handed a file on Andrew Crowe, 27, who was found dead in the street below the Lower Union Lane car park.
Police investigated the scene of his death and have treated it as unexplained at this time.
It will be the job of the coroner, who has yet to formally identify him, to establish how he came to die and the circumstances.
Once the inquest has opened it will be adjourned for all the details to be gathered and a full hearing held at a later date.
Friends have posted many tributes to Mr Crowe, who was a former pupil at St Cuthbert Mayne and Queensway Roman Catholic Primary School.
He is known to have worked behind the bar at the Apple and Parrot in Torquay.
