AUSTRALIAN soap star and singer Jason Donovan is heading to the Bay in a smash hit West End musical.
He will be starring in Priscilla Queen of the Dessert.
The vibrant production runs at Torquay's Princess Theatre between April 29 and May 4 with tickets on sale from today.
Donovan will play the role of Tick, the part he played when the show originally opened in the West End.
He has already enjoyed huge success on the musical stage, including performing as the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
His touring credits include Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music, Frank 'n' Furter in the Rocky Horror Show, the title role in John Doyle's production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and he can currently be seen as The Artilleryman in The War of the Worlds.
His television credits include Neighbours and Echo Beach.
Emmerdale and Neighbours star Richard Grieve will play Bernadette, having previously played the part of Tick in the West End production of the show.
Graham Weaver will play Felicia, which he played in the West End production of the show.
"What more can you ask for in this doom and gloom of a recession? This funny new musical is a journey to the heart of Fabulous," said Leah Miller at the Princess Theatre.
The musical follows three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and it has an array of outrageous costumes and includes a hit parade of dance floor favourites including It's Raining Men, Say a Little Prayer, Go West, Hot Stuff and Always on My Mind.
