TORQUAY United play Liverton United in a Devon St Luke's Challenge Cup second-round tie at Coach Road, Newton Abbot tonight (7.30pm).

Torquay will field a strong 'reserve' side to face Liverton, who are tasting Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division football for the first time this season under experienced manager Tony Bowker.

The Gulls' line-up includes two players who saw action in last Saturday's 2-1 npower League Two home win over Dagenham and Redbridge – winger Niall Thompson and striker Ashley Yeoman – plus recent loan signing Angus MacDonald, from Reading, at centre-back.

It will also be a chance for Karl Baker, the former Stoke Gabriel winger, to show a local audience how he is coming along under full-time training.

The match is being played at the 'neutral' venue of the Devon County Football Association headquarters in Newton Abbot.
