LADIES from Torquay Bowling Club this week secured the Gallery League Division Two title without having to bowl.
Results elsewhere mean Torquay's A team will be promoted as champions despite not having a game themselves.
Torquay ladies' B team also joined in the fun as they achieved a crushing 91-29 shot victory over bottom club Paignton Torbay B.
All three rinks won by a handsome margin with Hazel Eley, Jan Creber and skip Pat McCann (34-10) leading the way backed up by Jean Dawson, June Skennerton and Jane Perrett (32-11) and Val Grost, Rosie-Lee Russell and captain Joan Wiggington (25-8).
This left them with an outside chance of promotion from Division Six. Paignton B remain in pole position for the runners-up spot but these two sides clash this week.
Following on from last weeks success in the mixed triples Liz and Tim Lock again teamed-up, this time for the quarter-final of the county mixed pairs and after a hard fought game were victorious over Cynthia and Peter Hobbs from Lynton and Lynmouth by 18-15. They now go to Plymstock on September 7 for County Finals Day.
Not to be outdone, the men also came to the party as Dave Mitchell, Ray Blair and skip Alan Jordain beat the Paignton Torbay triple of Pete Farndale, Dennis Crown and Ken Clarke 25-18 to reach the final of the MDL Triples.
