Torbay born Lauren Pope is endorising South Devon Enterprise Week,
The Only Way Is Essex star started her own Hair Extension company Hair Rehab London in 2007 and even appeared ITV's Tycoon, which saw Dragons Den investor Peter Jones search for entrepreneurs with ideas that he helped turn into profit-making companies.
Despite not winning the programme, Jones continued to support Lauren and the brand has proved successful with endorsements from celebrity hairdresser Mikey Kardashian and celebrities such as Little Mix, Jessica Lowndes, Lisa Snowdon and Poppy Delevigne all spotted wearing products from the HRL range.
Hair Rehab London has developed into quite a family run business with the operation of the business recently relocating from London to Devon and Lauren's father and niece both playing active roles in the company.
Lauren said "Never really one for a nine-to-five job, I discovered quite early on that I enjoyed working for myself and coming up with business ideas. The hair extension business started off as a way to make a bit of extra cash, but over time has developed into a profitable business."
She added: "I've really focused on getting the product right, I always wanted luxury at an affordable price and I think once you have the right product, the rest falls into place."
Ever the entrepreneur, Miss Pope has launched an online dating site last year and is now moving into music production expanding her empire into new markets.
She added "All my businesses require a great deal of focus and effort on my part – running your own business is not the easy option, but it's certainly rewarding both emotionally and financially"
With family and business ties still in the Bay, Lauren jumped at the opportunity to endorse South Devon Enterprise Week from November 18 to 22 which is designed to encourage businesses and people in South Devon to be enterprising – either through setting up their own business or in their work as an employee.
Torbay Mayor, Gordon Oliver said: "South Devon Enterprise Week is marvellous opportunity for local businesses to come together and benefit from the wealth of advice and expertise on offer to support business growth and create new jobs.
"I am delighted that this talented young entrepreneur is endorsing the event, as part of our partnership aims to create the right climate for business in the South Devon area."
Lauren added "I think it's fantastic that anyone with a business idea will have the opportunity during South Devon Enterprise Week to attend any number of free events to learn how to take their business idea forward to reality. Getting advice at these early stages can help prevent costly mistakes and open up avenues of funding and markets you may not have considered."
"I was pleased to be asked to endorse the event especially as I have an affinity with and an understanding of just what it takes to make a business work."
