Local rescue dog Gypsy has had a taste of the limelight after filming for the prime time series, The Paul O’Grady show.
Gypsy travelled to London earlier this week to appear on the show, which will be aired on Thursday at 5pm on ITV.
The poorly dog made the news earlier this year after The Animals in Distress Centre, Ipplepen, launched a fund to raise £2,000 for the Lurcher cross to have an operation to save her leg.
Herald Express readers and animal lovers across South Devon dug deeply and the money was raised so she could have the four hour surgery on her right shoulder to stop it from dislocating.
She was walked on stage by Jeff Hordley who plays Cain Dingle in the soap opera Emmerdale.
“Gypsy’s London adventure was a great success and she’s now safe and sound back in the Special Care Unit at the rescue centre,” said a spokesman from the centre.
“She was an absolute star during the recording, not put off at all by the blaring music for the Irish country dancers or the cameras zooming around.
“She hasn’t been rehomed yet as she still has at least six more weeks of recovery before we can be sure that she’s fully healed.”
