BRIXHAM SAC members have been getting a few good fish over the holidays.

Russell Farley found a huss at Sharkham of 10-8-0. Both of these fish returned alive after weighing.

Shay, Corey and Jason Upham visited Berry Head to get some good whiting and pout. Shay had the best whiting at 1-11-7 and a lesser of 2-9-3, Corey finding them to 1-8-8. plus a pout of 1-4-15. Best pout went to Jason Upham at 1-12-10.

TORBAY & Babbacombe ASA's Ellis Waring landed a flounder of 2lb 15oz from Kingsbridge.

He also had another of 2lb 1oz. Dad Lee managed a smaller flounder of 1lb 1oz.

The fish was weighed and returned to fight another day.

BAYWATER Anglers open their diary for 2014 with a social fish and teach-in at Preston Beach.

It's an evening outing between 7-10.30pm to take advantage of high tide at 9.18pm.

The training focus is on distance leger rigs.

A high tide of nearly five metres is anticipated, which is one of the attractions for organiser Martyn Green.

"With the tide this high, any disabled anglers will probably be able to fish from their cars, a welcome change adding a touch of comfort to the cold winter."

If the weather looks dodgy and the event in danger of being cancelled call Green on 07704 602180 to check.
