A GROUP of four Duke of Edinburgh students were today found after being missing overnight on Dartmoor, police confirmed.
The two girls and two boys aged 17 to 24 were reported missing in poor weather at about 7pm on Sunday when they failed to meet at an agreed rendezvous point.
It is understood that the students are from Somerset.
After a complex rescue operation was mounted by police and the Plymouth section of the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team, the four reappeared at midday Monday.
A police spokesman said: “Apparently they had sheltered overnight at Harford Church.
“They have got kit to be fed and stay dry and were described as quite experienced.
“Obviously there were concerns because they have not made contact and because of the poor weather.”
The police helicopter team was waiting to join the search around Princetown once low cloud weather conditions improved, but in the meantime the students made contact and were said to be safe and well.
