POLICE in Brixham issued 11 tickets to motorists yesterday during a crackdown on drivers not wearing seatbelts.
PC Tim Perrin and his team targeted motorists on New Road in Brixham and Windy Corner during two operations.
It was all part of an effort to raise awareness of the dangers of driving without seatbelts.
PC Perrin said: “I would say 95 per cent of the people we stopped were driving the larger commercial vehicles.
“Perhaps they have the mistaken believe that they have a higher level of protection should they crash.”
The tickets give motorists the choice to pay a £60 fine on the spot or take the matter to court.
