THE New Year has rung in the changes at Teign Valley Golf Club, with new captains holding their drive in last weekend.

The captain's drive in saw the outgoing captains putting out while the baton was handed to new heads of the four sections.

New ladies captain Carol Wilson, men's captain Mick Davis, Teignagers captain Mike Barnes and junior captain Liam Hanslip all took part in a four-ball team stableford with three scores to count.

An impressive field of 96 players meant there was some hot competition, with the winning team of Chris Pugh, Richard Aggett, Martin Harris and Chris Davey starting their year off well with an amazing 128 points.

Earlier, 36 players took to the course on New Year's Day for a Mixed 3 Ball Team Stableford with two scores to count.

Conditions were heavy, but the weather stayed dry with even a few rays of sunshine. The winning team of Dave Stevens, Dougie Porter and Maggie Thomson came in with a very creditable score of 75 points and Tony Martin celebrated being the only golfer to score a two.
