A new healthand fitness suite is set to open in Dawlish Leisure Centre.
Gym bunniesand fitness fanatics can benefit from a new suite which will boast cardioequipment, strengthening stations and exercise classes.
The healthand fitness studio has been created in the former cafe area. It will have a mixof machines and free weights including treadmills, cross trainers, rowers,adjustable benches, a lat pull-down machine, weighted bars, medicine balls,dumbells and more.
The £43,000 for the new offering has come from planning contributionsdedicated to improving leisure facilities in Dawlish.
It also forms part of a bigger improvementplan for Dawlish Leisure Centre. During the summer the swimming pool's13,302 tiles were replaced and the centre was given afresh update with new doors and lighting, making it an even better place forcustomers.
Now it's going to benefit those who prefer to stay on dry land.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on November 16.People will also be able to meet the gym instructors, have a look aroundand enjoy lots more that will be on offer too.
To celebrate Teignbridge District Council is inviting residents to name the newgym and winner will be announced at the opening event.
The person who comes up with an original name will win a month's free use ofthe new suite, a personalised fitness programme, a gym induction and a bodyanalysis programme so they can get their new lifestyle off to a flying start atno initial cost.
Themulti-use Dawlish Leisure Centre in Sandy Lane, which offers free parking andis next the popular playing fields, has more than 300 members and is busy withvisitors throughout the year.
Teignbridgeis increasing what the centre offers to give people a wider variety of ways toget fit and stay fit for life.
When thesuite opens customers can go along and sign-up for classes like Pilates andyoga as well as more specialised short term weight managementclasses.

The layouthas been carefully designed so people can make the most of the stunning outsideviews and we've given lots of consideration to the range of equipment so peoplecan do their own workout or get involved in classes.
"Teignbridgeis committed to providing top quality leisure and recreational activities atall its leisure centres, parks and open spaces. We think this facility is goingto add to an already fantastic offering for residents and visitors."
