HOW can we get mums who have had babies active — sign up for a new Active Mums campaign!
The Herald Express has teamed up with Teignbridge Council, Torbay Council and Active Devon to support a new scheme to get new mums to be active yummy mummys.
The Active Mums health initiative will be launched at a Sport Relief event at Stover School near Newton Abbot on Sunday.
A series of special services are being provided for mums and their young ones to help them become active.
Taster sessions will be available at the Sports Relief day and then rolled out across Torbay and Teignbridge over the next 12 weeks.
There will be a Push It Mums Buggy Run which will be buggy-based exercise or try out Mummy-cise which gives them the chance to dance to Latin rhythms while baby stays snuggled in its carrier.
There's also Breeze Mum and Baby Cycle rides. Aqua Mums will provide water-based exercise while Bounce Away sessions are aimed at bouncing away baby weight while youngsters bounce too. Aerobuggies events focus on aerobics with babies and Mum-nastics are designed to enhance the relationship between adult and baby, allowing them 45 minutes of uninterrupted play.
Teignbridge and Torbay councils are working with Active Devon on the new scheme which has been made possible with Sport England funding. The taster sessions start at 12.30pm.
