ELECTRICAL manufacturer Legrand has bought Newton Abbot-based Aid Call as part of a deal that involves the acquisition of the nursecall specialist's parent company, Tynetec, for an undisclosed sum.
A pioneer of wireless nursecall technology in the UK for the past 30 years, Aid Call is a trading name of Tynetec Ltd, an assisted living specialist based in Northumberland.
Legrand has acquired both Tynetec and its Newton Abbot-based Aid Call business, including its 112-strong team.
It is part of a business development strategy designed to enable Legrand to capture a share of the growing assisted living and healthcare technology markets in the UK.
Aid Call will play a key role in this strategy, bringing a nursecall system into Legrand's portfolio for the first time.
