A HOTELIER who has been in the industry for more than 30 years was honoured with the lifetime achievement award.
Laurence Murrell's family got into the business in 1947 with a 28-bedroom guesthouse, the business has since grown to become TLH four highly prestigious hotels employing over 300 staff operating all year round. The staff employed lie at the heart of this business, led quietly, confidently and passionately by a man who was the first chairman of the English Riviera Tourism Company playing a huge part in South Devon's tourism success story.
Mr Murrell said: "I am really amazed by it and so grateful to get the recognition from the industry. It means a lot to me and feels very special. To see the successes of tonight has been fantastic."
