THE parents of a young author have fulfilled her dying wish by having her book published.
Felicity Begley, 23 and from Torquay, died in November 2011 after being diagnosed with an inoperable spine tumour.
Now her proud parents Keith and Aileen, of Golden Park Avenue, Watcombe, have found a publisher for Flik's first book 'Fun with Tilly' based on her childhood pet Dalmatian.
Readers can join Tilly on trips to the beach, the park and the aquarium.
Aileen said: "She would have been so pleased. She tried ever so hard to get them published while she was still with us and she set us some work to do."
Flik wrote a number of books and now the first three have been accepted by United PC.
Aileen said: "Looking through her manuscripts was very moving because she had based it on her own experiences. She loved children and loved her art and when she set out writing we said 'go for it',
"Sadly, it was after she started writing her first few that she became unwell.
"We are so pleased to have been able to fulfil her wishes."
Flik was a pupil at Watcombe Primary and the former Torquay Community College before studying art at South Devon College. She went on to work at WH Smith in Union Street, Torquay.
The books are available from Waterstones, Amazon and United PC.
