@Debris ...."what on earth was he doing walking along that stretch of road? " well...maybe his personal helicopter is in for a service?...or his levitation skills are not quite up to scratch? ....perhaps he was just making his way home from town? just because a road does not have a pavement does not mean a pedestrian should not walk along it...how would the folk get about in smaller villages? ..he should of been able to walk along that road without being run down....that said he was quite elderly and i can not rule out that maybe he had lost his way....as for the driver of the car it could go both ways...you should drive to the road conditions etc and really should of been able to stop/take avoiding action...I hope the elderly man recovers from this and it will be interesting to see if any driver offences are brought

I do hope this gentleman has a speedy recovery but I cannot help but ask - what on earth was he doing walking along that stretch of road in the dark? It has no pavement on that side & the road is very narrow.
