RESIDENTS are celebrating the return of one of their dog bins.

There was uproar in the summer when Torbay Council and Tor 2 removed 160 dog and litter bins across Torbay, including the dog bin at the Magdalene Road entrance to Upton park in Torquay town centre. This left this section, the only part of the park where dogs can be exercised, without any bin at all.

Resident Swithin Long said: "I would like to thank all the local residents who signed the petition, which was handed into the council's secret dog pooh summit.

"It is great a bin has been reinstated where it is really needed, but a real shame it has taken four months to get the bin back."
