THE father of superstar singer Robbie Williams will be coming to Torquay this weekend to be on the judging panel of Stairway to the Stars.
Pete Williams has been involved in the competition for many years and loves to see 'fresh faces' and 'new talent'.
"I look forward to coming to Torquay, I love it down there. I worked there for a short while after doing New Faces in the 1970s," he said.
"It's a pleasure coming down and being involved."
Pete won the New Faces talent show in 1973 and knows it can be tough being judged so isn't too hard on the acts.
He said: "I get a big kick out of being involved and the fact we might find a star.
"I'm also involved in a Stoke on Trent talent contest with Johnny Wilkes and we've had a few go on to have successful careers."
He will be down for the weekend before packing his bags to head off to Australia with his famous son.
"I've recently done a 46-date tour with Robbie which started off at London Palladium in November and recently finished at the 02. I also played Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club recently, so I've have had a good year."
This year is about to get better for the performer as he's also set to become a grandad again.
Robbie and his wife Ayda are expecting a baby boy in October.
"Their little girl Teddy Rose is going to be two years old next month and she's absolutely lovely," he said.
"I can safely say I'm one proud grandad."
The final of the competition takes place at the Rainbow Hotel, Torquay, on Sunday.
