DAVE Rosser ran his first half marathon at the Great West Run in Exeter on Sunday and was the first of five Haldon Trail Runners to finish.
Rosser finished 30th in 1hr 25mins 3secs, with Martin McEneny coming home 54th and third male over-45 in 1.27.27.
Nick Warren was 180th in 1.35.52, Ben Epps was 265th in 1.39.25 and Jacky Francis set a new personal best as she finished 570th in 1.46.53.
SOUTH Devon AC member Naomi Flanagan had an excellent race in the Great West Run.
Flanagan came 164th in a field of 2,164 runners in a time of 1.34.46.
FOUR Dawlish Coasters took on the revamped Great West Run Half-Marathon in Exeter.
Roy Brown (61st) was first home in an impressive time of 1.28.03 while acting as the 1.30 pacer.
Simon Bunday (594th) was next in 1.47.32, then Mike Buckley (775th) in 1.51.33.
The only lady Coaster to take part was Carly Greene (1528th) who finished in 2.09.01.
FOUR Brixham Harriers – and a friend – completed the Great West Run around Exeter.
Gloria Hunt, Carol Sells and Nicky Johnson and Jan Prior were the Harrier ladies taking part.
Marissa Milton, an associate of the club, also entered.
The group soon fragmented with Sells and Johnson breaking first, then Hunt losing Prior at the first hall, where an ankle injury slowed her down.
Johnson was first back for the Harriers in 2.01.12 to finish 1,249th.
Other results were 1837th – Sells (2.21.05), 2063 – Hunt (2.38.17) and 2086 – Prior (2.41.42).
"My goal was to finish in less than 2.45, so I was really chuffed," said Prior.
Milton's chip time was 2.21.40 for 1,857th overall.
ALEX Snell led the Torbay AC effort at the Great West Run, finishing 34th in 1.25.22).
The event was won by Tom Merson of Bristol & West AC in 1.10.02 with ex-Torbay AC runner Kairn Stone (Newnham & Essex Beagles) second in 1.10.20.

CRAIG Churchill was the first Teignbridge Trotter to complete the Great West Run.
A total of 2164 runners completed the course and several Trotters 'paced' the race hoping to help runners achieve personal best times.
Churchill brought the trotters home in 1.38.56 and 271st place with Mark Hamling just behind in 1.38.59 (273rd) and Chris Wride in 1.44.17 (452nd).
Gary Watson paced the 1.45 half-marathon group and crossed the line in 1.44.45 (474).
Other Trotters completed as follows: Peter Blakesley 1.45.34 (506), Howard Cotton 1.50.31 (733), Sarah Whalley 1.53.05 (844), Adrian Handley 1.54.19 (902), Chris Rogers 1.56.14 (991) which was a PB for him, and Derek Blackford 1.57.25 (1064).
Neil Pallant completed in 1.59.07 (1162) as an official pacer for sub two hour half-marathon and Cathleen Pilton finished her race in 2.11.51 (1621).
