FOUR friends ran the Torbay Half Marathon to allow a wheelchair-bound boy to reach his full potential.
Mark Bond, Luis Jesus and Chris and Steve Havill raised £650 for Ethan's Appeal, an appeal launched by Caudwell Children to raise the £12,000 needed to get five-year-old Ethan a power wheelchair.
The young boy from Torquay has a rare muscle-wasting disorder which leaves him unable to walk.
Stacey Smalley, community fundraiser for Caudwell Children, said: "Mark and his friends completed the half marathon which is a fantastic achievement and to raise over £650 for Ethan's Appeal is wonderful.
"We are desperate for more support so that we can continue to raise the money needed for Ethan's powerchair and for other children like Ethan throughout the area."
Ethan's Just Giving page shows the total has reached £3,035 of the £11,944 target — www.justgiving.com/Ethan-L
