FOUR friends ran the Torbay Half Marathon to allow a wheelchair-bound boy to reach his full potential.

Mark Bond, Luis Jesus and Chris and Steve Havill raised £650 for Ethan's Appeal, an appeal launched by Caudwell Children to raise the £12,000 needed to get five-year-old Ethan a power wheelchair.

The young boy from Torquay has a rare muscle-wasting disorder which leaves him unable to walk.

Stacey Smalley, community fundraiser for Caudwell Children, said: "Mark and his friends completed the half marathon which is a fantastic achievement and to raise over £650 for Ethan's Appeal is wonderful.
