A BUCKFASTLEIGH company has been selected as a finalist for the RSPCA Good Business Awards 2012.
Green Shoes has been short-listed in the fashion category of the awards that recognise the best UK companies that put ethics at the heart of their business, and are able to share details about where and how their clothes are made.
Green Shoes has been hand making shoes, boots, bags and belts for more than 30 years. Everything is made from leather, Eco-tan leather and vegan Lorica — and this vegan range is even accredited by the Vegan Society.
Alison Hastie, founder of Green Shoes, said: 'We're over the moon to be short-listed. We're a small company with big ideas and it's always wonderful when our hard work gets recognised.
"From day one, we've strived to be as ethical as possible, from making sure our raw materials are considerately sourced to helping our staff enjoy a happy work/life balance."
The winners will be announced on Wednesday, October 24, in London.
