Solar panel causes sofa fire in camper van at Totnes petrol station

A FAULTY solar panel on top of a camper van caused a blaze which damaged a sofa inside the vehicle.

Two fire pumps from Totnes and Buckfastleigh were sent to a petrol station at Harbertonford shortly after 2pm on Monday.

The fire which was caused by a solar panel connected to the main battery which sparked and led to a fire.

Advice was given to the owner and crews used a hose reel jet and small tools to make sure it was out
