SPECSAVERS in Victoria Street Paignton is collecting old and unused glasses in aid of Vision Aid Overseas throughout April.

Specsavers Paignton store director David Furby said: "We have a donation bin in our store and our goal is to reach more than 250 pairs of glasses by May."

The charity uses the money it makes from selling the reusable materials to fund its work in developing countries.

VAO works in Africa to transform access to eyecare services and is part of the Vision 2020 initiative to eliminate avoidable blindness by 2020.
