THE Gorilla Preservation Squad has been dispatched after a fibre-glass primate was involved in a hairy moment.
Bob, who is painted like one of the trucks belonging to his sponsors, Bob Hill Haulage, has been damaged.
Organisers of the Great Gorilla Trail think he could have been the victim of a road traffic accident — or perhaps even the victim of an intentional attack.
"We're sad to see one of the Great Gorillas damaged and I'm sure lots of people, locals and holidaymakers, will feel the same way," said Phil Knowling, of Paignton Zoo.
"The trail is a tremendous success and people have really taken the Great Gorillas to their hearts.
"We hope the damage to Bob can be repaired.
"The Gorilla Preservation Squad has been dispatched."
Plastic Surgeon set up the Gorilla Preservation Squad to care for the creatures.
