YEAR 9 students from Newton Abbot College enjoyed sun, sea and studies when they visited Tossa De Mar on the Costa Brava.
The aim was to enrich their language, PE and art studies.
PE students enjoyed sailing, snorkelling, kayaking and windsurfing and visiting Europe's largest waterpark, Waterworld in Lloret de Mar.
The art students went on cultural trips to the city of Barcelona and Figueres. They visited the Salvador Dali Museum and then his house on the coast at Portlligat.
All students spoke Spanish wherever possible and were set challenges to improve their speaking skills.
Team leader of languages, Carolyn Tossell, said: "What an exciting way to experience Spanish culture while enjoying lots of different water sports.
"Three different curriculum areas — PE, art and modern languages — worked together to organise this trip for the benefit of the young people in the college."
