C AFÉ ODE is situated near to the banks of the River Teign in Shaldon. It is a sister establishment to ODE dining in the centre of the village, Café ODE which was opened in May, 2012, by chef Tim Bouget.
Café ODE is the highest rated sustainable restaurant in the UK after only one year of trading.
The whole project team — including LHC Architects and main contractor, EaseBuild –— embraced their desire to build not only a sustainable building but also to operate a sustainable long-term business.
A great deal of effort was put in by all to translate their vision into reality both in terms of design, but also during the construction phase.
The project was recently named UK Sustainable Restaurant of the Year 2013 by the Sustainable Restaurant Association, testament to the attention to detail in both construction and operation.
Dominic De Suys, manager of Café Ode, said: "Together with the Ode team Tim Bouget would like to thank the Herald Express for this award.
"We work very hard to achieve the highest standards in sustainability and we are glad of the recognition this brings."
