TOADS Stage Musical Company is gearing up for the 2013 season at the Princess Theatre, Torquay and is on the look out for prospective cast members for the two productions planned, especially men, dancers, and children.

New members auditions (not for the children) are to be held on Thursday at St Luke's Church Hall, Shedden Hill, Torquay, at 7.30pm. Anyone is welcome to attend on that evening and should be prepared to sing a song of their choice.

They should bring the sheet music if possible and they will also be required to learn a very simple dance routine.

Anyone who is interested should call Iain Douglas on 01803 290371.

The company is planning to stage a one-night musical revue on March 16 at the Princess Theatre entitled Showstoppers and then from June 25 to 29 will stage the popular musical Annie Get Your Gun at the same venue.

Both productions need singers and dancers and Annie Get Your Gun in particular requires lots of men, a large team of dancers , and children. The lead character of Annie has some kid brothers and sisters who feature heavily throughout the show in song and dance and dialogue.

Any children interested in auditioning for the children's roles in the main show do not need to attend the new members auditions but should come along to the children's auditions on February 10 at 11am at St Luke's Church Hall, Shedden Hill, Torquay.

Apart from the children, the company are keen to enlist more men into the ranks, especially younger men, and the main show requires a large team of dancers.

Auditions for the main roles in Annie Get Your Gun will be held at 2pm on February 10, but all auditionees must be members of the society and have been accepted into the membership at new members auditions on January 17 or previously.

Showstoppers is the third in a series of popular revue style songs from the shows evenings that the society has staged in the last few years.

It will feature a selection of items from shows old and new performed by the company singers and dancers and also a good dose of comedy.

Annie Get Your Gun has not been performed in the Bay in recent years and the popular musical features such evergreens as Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better, Moonshine Lullaby and the anthem to show business There's No Business Like Showbusiness.
