Katie Wright, who appeared on the popular BBC programme The Apprentice, spoke to Torbay businesses at Lymington Road Innovation Centre, at this month's First Friday networking event organised by the Torbay Development Agency (TDA)
More than 65 business people attended the breakfast networking event to hear Katie talk about her experiences in business and what impact has "The Apprentice" had on her professional life, career and aspirations.
Katie was the guest speaker for one of the Friday networking events organised monthly by the TDA, at the South West Innovation Centres, taking place every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Friday of the month.
Each Friday event starts at 8.30am and features two networking sessions and a unique presenter on a relevant business topic. Events last up until 10.30 and provide a platform for businesses to learn and exchange ideas and develop partnerships.
The next Friday networking event will take place at the Vantage Point Innovation Centre in Paignton on 1 March with guest speaker Nick Williams, Business Advisor at the TDA. Back by popular demand, Nick will present some exciting networking techniques, as well as a business speednetworking session.
Mayor of Torbay, Gordon Oliver said: "I am delighted that Torbay's Innovation Centres provide a great space for businesses people to meet on a regular basis to network and exchange thoughts on how to develop their companies and strengthen our local economy."
Torbay Development Agency Chief Executive, Steve Parrock, said: "It is very encouraging to see ever increasing numbers of attendees and new faces at our Friday breakfast networking events. I am also grateful to the interesting speakers that make these events all the more valuable and exciting for delegates."
