ALL OF our staff work extremely hard to ensure every person who comes into our care receives the highest quality of service.
However, we know so many of our staff go above and beyond their roles each and every day, whether that's those on the frontline or those who provide vital back office functions.
We want to publically recognise the people who make a real difference to health and social care and share and celebrate some of the many success stories.
Our staff are the glue which holds our organisation together and each year we hold the Blue Shield Awards which allows us to step back for a moment and truly celebrate the great work which takes place in healthcare across Torbay and South Devon.
The awards — held in partnership with South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Torbay Hospital — also enable us to celebrate our volunteers and those organisations we work in close partnership with, and who are equally important to the running of local services.
Nominations for this year's Blue Shield Awards are now open.
There are several categories within the awards including individual, team, partnership, sustainability, equality and diversity, volunteer, and the lifetime achievement awards.
Nominations can be submitted by staff, service users, carers, patients and their families; for the teams and individuals who they feel have made a real difference in health and social care in Torbay and Southern Devon.
If you know of a member of staff or a team who is worthy of an award, I would encourage you to find out more and nominate via www.tsdhc.nhs.uk or www.sdhis.nhs.uk/blueshieldawards
You can also pick up a form at Torbay Hospital, your local community hospital or in GP surgeries throughout Torbay and South Devon.
Alternatively, you can email email@example.com or contact 01803 210500 to be sent a nomination form.
The closing date for all nominations is Monday, February 10.
The winners of this year's Blue Shield Awards will be announced at a ceremony in May.
Please join us in helping to recognise those individuals or groups whose energy, commitment and dedication ensures we can deliver high quality and effective services to our patients and service users.
