TWO goals straight after half time gave Argyle a deserved victory in this reserve team friendly at Plainmoor.
Plymouth were good value for the win after a solid team performance in which returning skipper Paul Wotton was outstanding.
Torquay did well, however, and had Argyle on the back foot at times. Gulls fans will be hoping an injury which saw striker Elliot Benyon limp off in the second half is not too serious.
Both of Argyle's goals came from Tyler Harvey, first from the penalty spot after Dan Lavercombe in the Torquay goal had brought down Isaac Vassell, and the second immediately afterwards when he was first to a loose ball and lobbed Lavercombe.
