Devon singer-songwriter Ben Howard was the biggest climber in the UK pop music charts yesterday, after his winning appearance at The Brit Awards last week.
The stirring single Only Love was last week in 190th spot but now finds itself at number nine after Totnes-raised Ben wowed the audience with it at the Brits.
He is a former student at KEVICC in Totnes and at Torquay Boys Grammar School.
The singer-songwriter, who often writes about his home county in his work, landed gongs for British Breakthrough Act and British Male Solo Artist.
He also saw his 2011 album Every Kingdom rocket to number four from 46th position.
